What if you are a college student who finally has
something they can call their own, that being a Dormitory or a little apartment
next to the College or the newlyweds who are excited at purchasing their first
brand new home or maybe you’re an older couple who have had a house for many
years now and feel it’s time to make a change to the house but don’t know
exactly what needs to change. When you have a place especially your first that
you can call your own, you start to get that mix rush of excitement at all the
possibilities of what you can do with having your place and unsure as to the
problems you will face whether it be a brand new home or a not so brand new
house.
No, I’m not
talking about the bills, how the grass looks, or the plumbing or whatnot
(though those things are important as well). I’m talking about furniture, yes,
you heard correctly…furniture something that we all need and have to deal with
when it comes to having a place as well as something that we have to think
about getting replaced after some many years. One thing we want to remember
about furniture is that there is no such thing as long-lasting furniture or the
perfect furniture because if there was there wouldn’t be so many options to
choose from but I would like to think that is because we as humans all have our
own distinguished taste when it comes to what we want…especially furniture.
When it
comes to the decor or redecorating of a home it can be fun to do because of the
creativity but time-consuming at the same time which is why some people hire
others to do the work for them in hopes of being happy at the results and
others who actually want to take the time in making their homes feel like a
place of belonging for themselves wanting every room in the house to have a
story to tell but just don’t know where to start at and that’s where the furniture
part usually kicks into gear at.
The task to
finding furniture can be burdensome to the point of giving up because it
involves spending hours and maybe a couple days online looking for certain
pieces of furniture that accentuate each room in the house to spending probably
a day or two going to 10-12 different stores comparing prices for the piece of
furniture that you are looking for and that’s bad when you consider the
financial state our economy is in as well as the prices of gas as it rises more
and falls less and I all have to say on that is don’t be shocked when it hits
$5 and up because it is going to happen. What about when you do find online
that the furniture you are looking for is available at the store only to find
that when you do get there they tell you that they have none in stock and that
it will be a while before they get more in or that they won’t be getting anymore
back in because their making a change for the next best thing. Now you’re left
standing there disappointed wondering what you should do now that you just
wasted a trip for nothing. I feel sorry for anybody who goes through a
situation like this especially those who travel out of town to go get their
furniture.
I’ve never
been to full-scale furniture shopping myself but I can only imagine how a
person’s emotions are when doing this task. I was thinking a while back that if
I was to ever come to owning my own home someday and I had to buy furniture my
personal preference would be to search for it online and purchase it with some
coupons I’ll find and order it through express shipping so I don’t have to wait
weeks waiting for it to come. Some people may be saying as they’re reading
this, Why would this person go about doing that this way?
Unlike having the disadvantage of going to the store
and possibly them being out of stock of the furniture I’m looking for I can go
to the website of that store or any one and order it to come straight to my house,
and as far as coupons these days they have it to where you can search coupons
online and type in the coupon code in the window before making a purchase. This
definitely saves you a lot time (if you’re traveling out of your area to
purchase furniture), travel expenses, stress, and a chunk of money. I’m all for
getting coupons because a lot of furniture that you find whether it be at the
store or on the internet can be very costly especially if you are on a fixed
budget. I’m not a coupon fanatic but if means having a little extra left in your
pocket regardless of what it is you’re buying than I’m all for having coupons, mainly
when it comes to the purchase of big
ticket items.
The only
stress that I could find myself having with a task like this is researching a
couple of websites and comparing prices for the furniture. The only advantage I
see to going to the store to go furniture shopping is too probably to try out
the recliners, big furniture similar to what I plan on buying, wall accessories,
and small items like dishes, candles, vases, and floor shopping for some tiles
or wood and other items such as small carpets, bathroom items, or anything
pertaining to stuff that doesn’t involve purchasing online. I consider myself a
newbie when it comes to doing this so it would most definitely take some time
and thought for me figure what type of furniture I would like to buy.
I found a website
that serves as a quick reference recommended to anyone who is avid shoppers in
finding great bargains on furniture for any store that you have in mind.

For those of you who
want to really be frugal with your money when it comes to furnishing your home
there is a brief six-steps article on how to furnish your home spending less
than $350 that I took the liberty of
sharing with you with next.
How to furnish your home with less than $350
Step 1
Divide your budget into sections so you know how much you have for
each aspect of your room. Take off $40 from your total for
wood stain and brushes. Allocate 2/3 of your remaining budget for your large furniture items, which will inevitably cost you the most.
Divide your remaining funds in half and use part of this for bulky material items, such as a rug and pillows, and the rest for accents like
art and lights.

Divide your remaining funds in half and use part of this for bulky material items, such as a rug and pillows, and the rest for accents like
art and lights.
Step 2
or stains on the furniture pieces and check that they are sturdy and stable. Bookshelves, cabinets or tables are great hand-me-down
pieces, as you can easily resurrect the wood.
Step 3
Buy wood stain in a dark color to better hide marks and scratches
and a cheap paintbrush. Stain your hand-me-downs the same color so they look
like a matching set.
Step 4
Buy the rest of the furniture pieces that you need from IKEA,
Wal-Mart or eBay. Choose cheap versions of furniture, such as a futon instead
of a sofa and packaged self-assembly furniture, which costs less than
constructed items. IKEA has a range of small sofa beds that cost less than
$150.
Step 5
Select some simple furnishings, such as a large bright rug and
matching pillows to give your room some cohesion and color scheme. Or skip the
rug and buy polish to brighten an attractive wooden floor. Look on clearance
aisles or discontinued stock for any bargains. A floor lamp or a large wall
print adds light and definition to your room and can easily cost less than $40
online.
Step 6
Use any funds you have remaining to buy room luxuries like
candles, photo frames or a vase. Small personal touches will bring your room
together, mark it out as your own and can cost next to nothing at chain
superstores or discount outlets, such as "Dollar Tree."
I believe these steps, in my honesty, are good six steps to follow by, the
factors I would consider though is how big your place is to determine how much
you need, the individual themselves, and the reason I say that is for the fact
of the matter some people don’t like taking hand-me downs from others, then
there are ones who don’t shop at cheap places such as the dollar store
regardless of what their budget is. It’s just out of the question for them, but
again this article is for ones who won’t have a problem and are willing to
furnish their homes spending less than $350. I hope these steps become of help
for you.

Read what one person had to say about Localfurniturelocator.com
Jansie Bert from Nashville, TN,
I grabbed a couple of furniture ads to see if anything stood out. Then I found and awesome couch by Ashley Furniture. I knew of their good quality and decided that I would try their products out. They had the most incredible looking couch called the Navigator Saddle Sofa. It looked so comfortable and it had the built in recliners on the sides. Wow, I thought, that's the couch. So I decided to take a look at it. They had a local store about 10 miles away. When I got to the store it was fairly empty, so I got helped right away. I told the saleswoman what I wanted and she took me to it. As we walked closer my heart began to sink. It was over $800.00!!! Whoa... I tried to pretend that I didn't see the price, and I sat on the most comfortable couch I had ever sat in. It was incredible. Lush full cushions, a beautiful brown hue and the recliners were simply amazing. Oh… how I wanted it.
A Little Pricey
I had a feeling it would be a little high since the advertisement didn't have an individual price. It simply had a group price of $999 for a 14 piece sale. Well the sofa I wanted was not included on the deal. I asked the saleswoman if there were any sales coming up and she said probably not for this piece but you never know in this economy. Needless to say, I was crushed and had to walk away disappointed. I tried to look at a few other pieces but nothing was close to what I wanted. So I decided to do some research online. First, I checked EBay to see how much it was going for. They only had a set (couch and loveseat) but they wanted a little over $1400. Then I did some general searches on Google. The Savings Hunt...
I tried every search term I could imagine...cheap furniture, discount furniture, low cost furniture and low cost Ashley Furniture, all with no luck. Then I thought maybe there's a service that can help me look. I did a search under locate furniture and discovered locatefurniture.com. It seemed like a basic furniture site until I realized it revolved around finding deals. So I decided to use their search locator tool and I found an amazing deal for the piece I wanted.Incredible price
I found a truly incredible price of around $400 for this item. I was so excited. The store was close to me and I called them and confirmed that they had it. Before I left the furniture site, I noticed they had a coupon section. Sure enough Ashley furniture was one of their top choices for coupons. I got a $100 off coupon as long as I purchase a minimum of $750. I planned to spend about $800 total and now i had an incentive to spend the money. The discount place that I went to honored the discount helped my find additional items to go with my couch. Now I have my couch, painted walls, incredible artwork and the peace of mind knowing that I stayed within my budget and got the best possible deal in my area.I highly recommend using... http://www.localfurniturelocator.com
